Helen Docherty

About the Author

Helen Docherty is the author of the highly successful picture book, The Snatchabook (Alison Green Books), illustrated by Thomas Docherty. It has been translated into 18 languages, won the 2014 Oldham Brilliant Book Award, voted for by school children, and was shortlisted for several national awards. 
Helen’s second book, The Knight Who Wouldn’t Fight (Alison Green Books), was shortlisted for Oscar’s Book Prize 2017. Her most recent picture book, Blue Baboon Finds Her Tune (Sourcebooks), was chosen as one of Amazon’s Best Children’s Books in 2022. Before becoming an author, Helen taught Spanish and French, and has been trying her hand at learning Welsh too. Helen lives in Swansea, Wales, with her husband, the author and illustrator Thomas Docherty, and their two daughters.


Creative Visionary Erin K. Robinson is a Fashion Designer by trade but also a trained fine artist from Parsons School of Design and the Corcoran School of Art. Her daydreamy, magical imagination is inspired by travel, color, texture, the feminine shape and the many shades and coifs of Brooklyn. She works in a variety of mediums that include watercolor, ink, markers, charcoal, stencil, and collage, as well as digital artistry. She illustrated Brave. Black. First: 50+ African American Women Who Changed the World, published by Penguin Random House. 

Erin Robinson divides her time between Brooklyn, New York and Nairobi, Kenya.
