Mara Gordon, MD, is a frequent contributor to NPR’s Shots blog and serves as an expert commentator on NPR’s Life Kit podcast and All Things Considered. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Philadelphia Inquirer, STAT News, and other publications. She is on the faculty of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, where she directs the Narrative Medicine program and serves as a primary care physician for children and adults. She also writes Chief Complaint, a Substack newsletter exploring issues related to medicine, gender, fatphobia, and parenting.
