From the author of Voidwalker comes the conclusion to the Beasts of the Void duology where spicy monster romance meets epic fantasy and in which a young woman must make the ultimate sacrifice to a dangerous immortal.

Fi has toppled immortal beasts. Antal welcomes being conquered.

After helping the Lord Daeyari reclaim his territory, semi-reformed smuggler Fi dons a daunting new role: rebuilding a city alongside her monstrous partner, a haven free from bloody sacrifice. So when Antal’s father unexpectedly summons him home, Fi’s first instinct is to ready her claws.

Only, claws won’t be enough for this adversary.

Antal faces his first homecoming in five decades, dreading two truths. From his father’s seat on the governing council, he could undo everything Antal has built. And their last argument ended with Antal’s lover dead on the floor.

But a greater danger lurks: the appearance of a creature that even the daeyari fear, burning its way through the Planes. With Antal’s father leading the hunt, he and Fi must ally with a team of immortals who could turn fangs on them at any moment.

Or worse, strain their still-fresh love until it snaps.

  • "Maclean expertly balances romance and fantasy, keeping up the plot’s momentum without skimping on steamy scenes. Monster romance fans should snap this up. "
    Publishers Weekly on Voidwalker
  • "In this series starter, the lines between predator and prey become blurred in the most delicious ways. With enjoyable characters, relatable themes, and a hot romance, Voidwalker will leave readers pining for the next installment in the Beasts of the Void series."
    Booklist on Voidwalker
  • "Against a vivid world shattered by shadow and fear, Maclean's characters blaze fierce, flawed, and unforgettable. Voidwalker is your vicious new obsession."
Lyra Selene, author of A Feather So Black on Voidwalker
  • "Voidwalker is a gorgeous, genre-defying journey through broken worlds. Maclean's prose is addictive, her plotting, deft, her worldbuilding, fascinating and atmospheric. I dove through page after page, glorying in the bloody, beautiful chaos of it all."
Brigitte Knightley, author of The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy on Voidwalker
  • "Voidwalker is a book that bites back. Utterly unputdownable! Set against the backdrop of a gritty world with a unique magic system, Voidwalker's twists and turns pulled me in, chewed me up, and spit me out--and I couldn't have been more thrilled. Readers searching for a romantasy that feels truly new will adore this book!"
Alexandra Kennington, author of Blood Beneath the Snow on Voidwalker
  • "Voidwalker sunk its claws into me and even after reading I can still feel the bite. Maclean has crafted a unique world that feels at once familiar and yet entirely her own. The characters claw their way into your heart and leash you to their story from the very first page and I'm not sure if I devoured the book or if it devoured me. Superb."

Hazel McBride, author of A Fate Forged In Fire on Voidwalker
  • "Voidwalker devoured me, as entirely as a daeyari devours a sacrifice. This book is deliciously sharp, achingly romantic, and gloriously messy in only the best ways. Feral and flirtatious, it’s equal parts teeth and tenderness. Fi and Antal’s banter made me laugh, scream, and fall headfirst into the Void. I’d walk between worlds for this book. My new obsession, and easily a new favorite."
Mikayla Bridge, author of Of Flame and Fury on Voidwalker
  • "Populated by monsters as seductive as sharp teeth at your throat, Voidwalker features deliciously tender depictions of grief and forgiveness."
Sara Omer, author of The Gryphon King on Voidwalker

About the Author

S. A. MacLean is a fantasy romance author from sunny Southern California. Infatuated with magical worlds since her days of brewing mud potions in her childhood garden, she fell in love with the romantasy genre after realizing all her favorite fantasy novels had kisses in them. Her stories invariably feature quirky humor, sassy animal companions, and queer casts who represent her voice as a chaotic bisexual woman. Sarah received her BS in Natural Resources from Cornell University and a PhD in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley. She left the research track to teach environmental science at her local community college, inspiring the next generation of students to save the planet.
