The delivery room decoded—by the internet’s favorite labor nurse.

"I highly recommend Birth Vibes for pregnant women who plan to have hospital births.”—Ina May Gaskin, CPM

“This book doesn’t just prepare you for birth; it changes how you think about it."—Hadley Vlahos

“Compassionate, real, and reassuring.” –KC Davis, LPC

Childbirth is one of life’s most powerful experiences—but it can also be overwhelming. Too often, expecting parents are prompted to create a “birth plan,” only to feel defeated or afraid when things don’t go exactly as envisioned. That’s where Jen Hamilton comes in.

A labor and delivery nurse, ER veteran, and unexpected mom herself, Jen has been a steady presence at thousands of births (and on millions of screens). In Birth Vibes she uses both humor and heart, sharing her own stories to help readers learn what really happens in the delivery room. Jen busts harmful myths, and gives readers tools to advocate for the care they want. Instead of rigid plans, she encourages parents to focus on their birth vibes—the feelings and environment they want to create—while providing helpful scripts and insider advice to get there.

Birth Vibes is the ultimate companion for anyone preparing to give birth—or supporting someone who is. Warm, funny, and deeply grounded in real-life experience, this is the guide every parent deserves.

  • “Every expectant parent should read Birth Vibes. Jen Hamilton takes what’s often overwhelming and turns it into something deeply human and empowering. Her stories, humor, and honesty make you feel like you’re sitting with a friend who’s been there and knows exactly how to help you find your voice. This book doesn’t just prepare you for birth; it changes how you think about it."

Hadley Vlahos, New York Times bestselling author of The In-Between
  • “Compassionate, real, and reassuring. Jen Hamilton may not be in the delivery room with you, but once you read Birth Vibes, you’ll feel like she is.”

KC Davis LPC, bestselling author of How to Keep House While Drowning
  • "I highly recommend Jen Hamilton's book Birth Vibes for pregnant women who plan to have hospital births. Jen understands how to communicate with women who feel the same joyful terror—as she calls it—that she instantly felt when her own two pregnancies were confirmed. Her skillful storytelling will engage anxious moms, and her explanations as to what to expect in labor and delivery are given with humor, heart, and honesty. Finally, her compassionate approach can help caregivers learn how to create and nurture trust in women who need to know that someone is going to work with them to achieve the best experience possible.”

Ina May Gaskin, author of the international bestseller Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
