About the Author

George MacDonald (1824–1905) was a Scottish novelist, poet and Christian minister. He was a pioneer of modern fantasy literature and the mentor of Lewis Carroll. In addition to his fairy tales, MacDonald wrote over fifty novels, short stories, poetry, literary criticism, and several works of Christian theology.
