Gail Perry Johnston (aka Gail Perry Treks) is a lifelong hiker and an expert on long-distance trails with places to stay along the way. She’s a member of the American Long-Distance Hiking Association-West (ALDHA-West) and American Pilgrims on the Camino, as well as a hiking guide for Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito, CA. Previously, Gail’s nonfiction works have been published by HarperSanFrancisco, Ballantine Books, her own Cupola Press, and numerous magazines. With a B.F.A. in Communications Arts and a successful career in graphic design and advertising, Gail is also an expert photographer—many of the photos in Walks ofthe World are hers.
