One of the most influential people in American history was a humble woman who refused to give up her seat on a bus. Ten powerful stories go beyond that single, impactful decision. Readers follow Rosa Parks from her childhood on her grandparents’ farm in rural Alabama, through her growth as an activist, to her receipt of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest award a civilian can get.

Her brave, lifelong commitment to protesting injustice has inspired a new generation to fight for their rights.

Each book in this collectible series is an exciting combination of the perpetually popular 5 Minute stories format and nonfiction biographies for young readers genres. The series’ unique approach, with each book containing ten exciting stand-alone stories in the life of a genius plus bonus informational content on the science, craft, and history behind each story, creates an engaging reading experience for young readers. 5-Minute Genius explores a broad range of noteworthy individuals with STEM appeal for readers ages 6–9, from scientists like Albert Einstein and Ada Lovelace, to athletes like Lionel Messi and Simone Biles, to activists like Rosa Parks and the Suffragettes.
