From the New York Times bestselling author of Wolfie the Bunny comes a witty send-up of inspirational greeting card wisdom that reminds readers of life’s unpredictability and messiness–and beauty.

After Life literally knocks on their door, one kid discovers that Life is truly what you make it. It’s weird and may not always cooperate, but Life’s beauty becomes apparent when it’s embraced for all of its quirks. This story is filled with tongue-in-cheek idioms that will appeal to readers of all ages and will impart deeper wisdoms about the many milestones and stages of life.

  • Praise for That's Life!:
"[H]umorous, kid-friendly, and clever [...] a level of fun that will satisfy readers of all ages."
    Kirkus Reviews
  • "The mood is always upbeat--or, at the very least, maintains a 'dust yourself off and keep going' attitude--with plenty of reminders that whatever life is, it is for sure one wild ride."
    Publishers Weekly
  • "A terrific reminder to readers of all ages that life, in all forms, is worth treasuring."
    Booklist
  • "[Readers] starting a new phase in life (say, kindergarten or a move) may appreciate the physical manifestation of their feelings and assurance that everything will be okay."

About the Illustrator

Cori Doerrfeld is the New York Times bestselling author-illustrator of The Rabbit Listened and has also created art for such books as That’s Life! and Help Mom Work from Home! Originally from Illinois, Cori moved to Minnesota for college and quickly fell in love with the state’s natural beauty. This book is her homage to the North Shore along Lake Superior as well as the magnificence and mystery one may find when surrounded by nature. It is also a nod to her dad and Grandpa Lenny and an examination of the many layers that make up the human experience. Today, Cori can still be found exploring Minnesota—now with her husband, two children, and rescue dog, Jinx.
