Lisa Baril

About the Author

Lisa Baril is a science writer who has written about national parks across the western United States. Previously, Baril dedicated 15 years to studying birds and their habitats as a traveling ornithologist. She spent half of those years surveying and monitoring golden eagles, peregrine falcons, Swainson’s hawks, and red-tails in Yellowstone National Park. She holds a master’s degree in ecology from Montana State University and is a member of the National Association of Science Writers, the Society of Environmental Journalists, the Outdoor Writers Association of America, and the Association of Science Communicators. Baril lives in northwestern Wyoming with her husband and black lab.
